On the 14th February 1946 this aircraft crashed into the fellside
above Castle Bolton in the Yorkshire Dales.Flying out of RAF Middleton
St George on a solo training exercise the pilot crashed in cloud .
The pilot, it has been alleged, was ordered to climb by air traffic control ,he failed to do this and the result can now be seen piled in a depression on the fellside.
